This is a commission I worked on in the summer of a barn located in northwest Indiana. The place holds a great deal of personal meaning to the family, and the drawing was a surprise gift.
I really enjoyed working on this piece because of my love for barns (both old and new) and also the truck, a green 1947 International. This particular photograph of the drawing is slightly skewed and may not be the best representation, but it did capture the correct colors I used in the drawing process.
The piece was created using colored pencils, but it was not rendered as tightly as I normally work. I have been experimenting with the medium over the last few months and found I enjoy leaving some areas with more of a sketch-like quality.
Overall, I am pleased with the drawing and the client was happy with the final result. At the end of the day, the client's reaction is all that matters.
